Department of Public Policy in the UCLA Meyer and Renee Luskin
School of Public Affairs seeks to recruit one applicant for the
position of Associate Professor of Public Policy. We seek scholars
within economics in the fields of applied microeconomics, labor,
education, public, development, health, or environmental economics.
In these fields, we are particularly interested in building on our
strengths in studying inequality issues. Within applied
microeconomics, we also seek a scholar whose work may focus on
international contexts, potentially with an emphasis on Latin
America. Applicants' research should have important public policy
implications, and applicants should be prepared to teach core and
elective courses in microeconomics, econometrics, and other topics.
A Ph.D. in Economics is required by the time of appointment.We are
a multi-disciplinary department that values scholarly excellence
and collegiality, within the UCLA School of Public Affairs that is
home to myriad research centers. The Department and School are
particularly strong in data analytics and policy analysis;
environment; race and inequality; housing and transportation;
social policy; urban issues; health; and youth. We offer a Master
of Public Policy degree, an undergraduate Public Affairs Major, and
contribute to the training of doctoral students from varied
departments across campus. The Department currently includes
fifteen FTE ladder faculty, as well as several senior faculty with
joint appointments from other campus schools and departments, and a
number of lecturers. UCLA is among the leading global universities
